6 August, 2021. Quiet day in small town Michigan as the winds rage on Lake Michigan

Sculpture along the walking path

Rain, thunder and winds pretty much sums up the day here in Pentwater.  On the lake, small craft advisories; by mid afternoon nearby weather buoys reporting 3-5 foot waves.  Humidity has increased with the southerly flow and rain.  We hiked this morning, returning to Serenity for breakfast. Cleaned the inside of the boat.  Between rain showers we washed a few of the side curtains and killed a bunch of spiders.  No success yet with ratification, and have not found a spray poison I want to use on the outside yet.

Partly cloudy this afternoon with good breezes.  Took another walk around the outsides of town.  Well kept yards and homes.  This is mainly a tourist town.  Most shops are open but several are not and all seem to have reduced hours.

A familiar sign we have seen a lot during this summer

We are hopping we can travel at least a bit further south on Lake Michigan tomorrow.  Winds are forecast to decrease around midnight and the waves should too.  We may only have a part of a day tomorrow before winds build back up.  Weather forecast for the next several days is not good with thunderstorms and strong south and southwest winds keeping the lake waves well above three feet.  Not to our liking.  Weather check early tomorrow to determine if we can continue safely south.
