13 May, 2021. Rocking and rolling at the anchorage another day

No travel today other than taking the dinghy Kaos into the Phoebus free dinghy dock.  Anchorage  A tad chilly this morning; 45 degrees and windy.  But not long after sunrise, in very clear skies, Serenity began to warm in the solar rays.  Only mid 60s today, but good warming under the hardtop and Sunbrella canvas top. Winds funneled down the entirety of the Chesapeake today with forecast and actual waves in the 2-3 foot range.  We just stayed put.  Later tonight winds should diminish and tomorrow and the weekend look like great travel/cruising days.

Free dock was very nice
It is amazing how much trash two people can generate.  We are pretty good at minimizing trash after provisioning.  Thru hiking the AT, you shred all of the store packaging and get rid of the extra plastic and cardboard, downsizing everything.  We do the same before transferring groceries to the boat.  Yet trash accumulates.  I splashed Kaos off of the davit and loaded up the trash and motored 3/4 of a mile to the free dock.

Out of the direct wind, it was a warm mile walk to Food lion grocery store.  While we really did not “need” anything, fresh fruit was what we wanted for a treat after supper tonight.  I also wanted to get in a walk and see the neighborhood.  Nice, refreshing walk through the Phoebus area.

Another favorite place

Cantaloupes and cookies in my shopping bag,  I walked to the dinghy dock and headed back to Serenity.  A little chop in the anchorage, but Kaos handled it well with the new float tubes.

Salad and leftovers for supper, treats for desert as the sun begins to set.
