5 May, 2021 Downtown Hampton Public piers

Easy morning.  Coffee, and traffic.  Our anchorage is between highway bridges; safe and secure in the howl last evening, but hustle and bustle noise as folks scurry off to work.  Hampton river anchorage last night

We  picked up the anchor and moved less than a mile and about 30 minutes of engine time to a berthing spot at the public piers.  No longer piers, but a very nice transit only marina facility.  Surpassingly reasonable priced with showers and laundry within steps.  Hampton public pier

Nine continuous days traveling and at anchorage; time for body, clothes and boat cleaning.  We have spent the day completing all three.  Seems like we have chased spring northward from Jacksonville, FL  with every speck of pollen accumulating on the boat.  Serenity was filthy top to bottom inside and out.  Complete cleaning, sweeping, dusting and scrubbing till Serenity shines again.  Big majority of laundry now clean and put away.  We have hot water aboard, and bathe daily, but water conservation a must.  Long hot showers ashore are a welcomed and appreciated amenity associated with the marina fees. Two a day if you want!

Enjoyable late afternoon visiting with fellow loopers, sharing tales and experiences.

For the next few days we will be tourists.  So much history to take in.  Splurging on a rental car to expand the radius of exploration to include YorktownJamestown,  Williamsburg and Norfolk.

Blowing hard this afternoon and for the next few days.  Good to be in port.
