Waterford, NY—Hudson in background |
Breakfast and coffee as light rain fell early while tied to the Waterford harbor visitor center. Radar indicating rain ending in an hour or so and skies clearing as day wears on. Next to the visitor center are rental bicycles, which require registering online and getting an account number and selecting a pin. Once complete, we unlocked two bikes and rode 3.2 mile round trip to the Advance auto parts and got two gallons of Rotella diesel oil.

Fresh oil for future oil change |
Around 1000, the skies cleared pretty good and the forecast took all rain out for the next three days. Huge change from what was forecast yesterday. We walked 1 mile to the grocery, where the store will “unlock” the cart and allow it to be pushed back to the visitor center and left. What a great deal. We got the heavy stuff we have not bought in a week or so, along with freshies and canned goods. With our cart unlocked we headed back to the visitor center with our goodies.

Why am I the only one pushing? |
Groceries put away, boxes and excess packages to the trash, we fixed lunch and took a break and nap. While we were at the grocery store and the visitor center was closed, the FEDEX truck arrived with my order of one pound propane bottles, but did not leave the package. Called and they will not deliver until next business day which is after we leave. Not amused at all. Will cancel that Amazon order. I called the local hardware store, which I did not know was here and they had the propane. Once again, I checked out a bicycle and rode a 3 mile round trip and got four bottles of propane.

Propane loaded up and ready to ride |
It has been a nice couple of days. Water tank topped off. The galley stocked. House batteries topped off and engine supplies on hand. Tomorrow we will head west and begin a series of lifts up and through the eastern Erie Canal system. Waterford free docks; lock #2 video
